Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Security Assistant to support the protection and monitoring of our organisation’s systems, networks, and data.
The ideal candidate will be security-conscious, detail-oriented, and capable of identifying vulnerabilities, assisting with security protocols, and responding to potential threats. This role requires a strong understanding of IT systems and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data integrity.
Responsibilities
- Provide IT support for hardware, software, and network-related issues
- Maintain and update computer systems, networks, and security tools
- Assist with the installation and configuration of software and devices
- Monitor system performance and support security compliance measures
- Assist with data backups and disaster recovery processes
- Support basic cybersecurity tasks, including monitoring for potential threats
- Assist team members with technical queries and security best practices
Requirements
- Proven experience in IT support, systems administration, or a related field
- Knowledge of Windows, macOS, and common software applications
- Basic networking and troubleshooting skills
- Understanding of fundamental cybersecurity principles
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Advantageous
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Office 365, Google Workspace)
- Knowledge of cybersecurity tools and best practices
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft)
